| During a 1998 tribute concert in honor of Harry Nilsson, actress and singer Ann Magnuson performed a medley of "Coconut" and "Remember (Christmas)" connected by the story of a young girl dreaming of escaping her small town and running away to Los Angeles to meet Harry Nilsson.
Magnuson was born on January 4, 1956, in Charleston, West Virginia.
Magnuson attended Denison University then moved to New York to intern as a director at the Ensemble Studio Theatre.
In 1985, Magnuson helped form the band Bongwater and began acting. In 1987, she starred in the film Making Mr. Right with John Malkovich.
After releasing several albums, Bongwater broke up in 1992. Magnuson's first solo album, The Luv Show was released in 1995.
Magnuson's other films include Panic Room and Small Soldiers.
