Arlo Guthrie

Arlo Guthrie was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1947. He is the eldest son of singer/songwriter Woody Guthrie and Marjorie Mazia Guthrie, a dancer with the Martha Graham Company and founder of The Committee to Combat Huntington's Disease.

At age 13, Guthrie gave his first public performance.

In 1967, Arlo Guthrie wrote and sang the song "Alice's Restaurant." In 1969 he starred in the film version of "Alice's Restaurant" which was directed by Arthur Penn.
