Belinda Jo Carlisle was born on August 17, 1958 in Hollywood, California.

In 1978, Carlise formed a band which became the Go-Gos. The group's first album was released in 1981. Beauty And The Beat reached number one on the charts.

Carlisle began a solo career when the Go-Gos broke up in 1985.
