Bill Lloyd

Bill Lloyd was born on December 6, 1955, in Fort Hood, Texas.

Inspired by the Beatles, Lloyd persued a career in music. He quit college, worked in record stores, and played music in clubs during the 1970s.

In 1982, Lloyd moved to Nashville, Tennessee. In the 1980s began recording with Radney Foster. Foster & Lloyd recorded several hits including "Crazy Over You," "Sure Thing," and "What Do You Want From Me This Time." The duo stopped recording in 1991.

In the early 1990s, Lloyd worked with RCA looking for new talent while writing songs and working as a session musician. He also played guitar on Marshall Crenshaw's "Life's Too Short" tour.

In 1994, he released his solo album, Set To Pop, which won the "Album of the Year" from Stereo Review.

During the 1990s, Lloyd was a member of The Sky Kings with Rusty Young, Pat Simmons, and John Cowan.

In 1999, Lloyd signed with Koch Records and released another solo album, Standing On The Shoulders Of Giants.

Lloyd has produced projects for others including Carl Perkins and Sweethearts of the Rodeo.
