Bobby Hatfield

Robert Lee Hatfield was born on August 10, 1940, in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. He died on November 5, 2003.

Hatfield's family moved to Anaheim, California, when he was 4. While in high school, Hatfield performed in music groups. An excellent athlete, he considered a career in professional baseball but finally decided to pursue a music career.

In 1962, Hatfield joined Bill Medley in a five-piece group called The Paramours. The group's name changed to the Righteous Brothers just before the release of their first album in 1963.
