| Carolyn Laurie Kane was born on June 18, 1952, in Cleveland, Ohio.
Kane's early movie roles have included playing the goofy girlfriend in Carnal Knowledge, a prostitute in The Last Detail, and
a hostage in Dog Day Afternoon. She received an Oscar nomination for her role as a Jewish bride in Hester Street in 1975. Then she played Woody Allen's first wife in Annie Hall.
Kane received two Emmy awards (in 1982 and 1983) for her role as "Simka" in the TV series "Taxi."
