| Dave Edmunds was born on April 15, 1944, in Cardiff, Wales.
In the early 1960s, Edmunds formed the group Love Sculpture whose psychedelic version of Russian composer Aram Khachaturian's "Sabre Dance" was a top 5 hit in Britain in 1968.
Love Sculpture broke up shortly afterwards. Edmunds built a studio in Wales and recorded his own songs. His version of Smiley Lewis's "I Hear You Knockin'" reached the top 10 in the US and England.
In the 1970s, late 1970s, Edmunds teamed up with bass guitarist and songwriter Nick Lowe. They toured together in the band Rockpile.
Edmunds released solo albums during the 1980s and produced recordings by the Stray Cats, the Everly Brothers, k.d. lang, and the Fabulous Thunderbirds.
