JOE MONTGOMERY (AKA - JOMO ) (July 18, 2006) I WAS A BIG FAN OF DICK HUUGG ALL THTOUGH THE 50'S USED TO HANG OUT AT VERNON & CERTRAL 'TILL 4 A.M. WHILE "HUGGY BOY" WAS ON THE AIR BROADCASTING -- HANGING OUT ON THE SIDE WALK ~ IT WAS A DIFFERENT WORLD IN THOSE DAYS -- EVERY ONE GOT ALONG WITH EACH OTHER VERY WELL AND IT WAS A PARTY ATMOSPHERE THERE AT DOLPHIN'S ~ I JUST PURCHASED A NEW BEETLE AND WAS ASTONDED TO FIND THAT THE LIC. PLATE "HGGYBOY" WAS AVAILABLE ~ SO IF YOU ARE EVER DRIVING AROUND IN SANTA CLARITA AND SEE A SILVER VDUB WITH THE LIC. PLATE THAT SAYS "HGGYBOY" THAT'S ME ~I HOPE DICK HUGG SPOTS IT ! Friend (August 30, 2006) We were notified today by Dick "Huggy Boy" Hugg family that Huggy Boy passed away this morning. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.

becky (September 11, 2006) My girlfriend Judy and I went with Bobby Gonzales and some other guy to see Huggy Boy one night after the drive-in. I don't know where the last guy came from but Vernon & Central was not the safest place even then...It took a little nerve...Huggy had on a lavender suit and purple suede shoes, he was very tall & skinny with long hair and fingernails, we thought he was the coolest guy ever... I listened to him every night until I got married in 1958, he and the music were great company. I went to his funeral service last Friday and cried like a baby when Little Willie G sang "That's All", Art Leboe looks the same after all these years, he & Dick Clark must be related... It was way fitting that he had a low-rider procession following him to his final resting place, I could just picture all those guys 50 years ago down at Dolphin's at 3 in the morning...Let's bring back stacked hair, pegged skirts, bunny shoes kakis, french toes and chalecos...and by the was whose idea was it to tear down the El Monte Legion and where is Little Julian Hererra?
