| Edward Bunker was born on December 31, 1933, in Hollywood, California.
Bunker's run-ins with the law began at an early age. At 17 he was the youngest inmate in San Quentin. Released from prison, he violated his parole and became one of the FBI's ten most wanted fugitives.
He was caught and sent to Folsom Prison. While in Folsom, began writing. Over 17 years, Bunker wrote six novels and many short stories before No Beast So Fierce became his first published novel.
