| Eric Stoltz was born on September 30, 1961, in Whittier, California.
As a teen, Stolz played piano for local music theater productions. Stolzed attended the University of Southern California, but quit in his junior year. He then studied acting with Stella Adler and Peggy Feury.
Stolz's first film was Fast Times at Ridgemont High which was released in 1982. He earned a Golden Globe nomination for his performance in 1985's Mask.
In 1988, Stolz made his Broadway debut in Our Town and received a Tony nomination.
