| Fann Wong was born on January 27, 1971, in Singapore.
At 16, Wong won a beauty contest in Singapore which led to a modelling career. In 1994, she began acting on TV in Singapore. In 1996, she released her first album, Fanntasy. The album was re-issued in Taiwan a year later and sold over half a million copies.
In 1999, she appeared in her first feature film, Zhen xin hua, and earned a nomination as "Best New Performer" at the Hongkong Film Awards.
In 1996, she sang with the British band 911 on their song "Private Number."
