Freddie Jones

Freddie Jones was born on September 12, 1927, in Staffordshire, England. He played "Dr. Frankenstein" in Son of Dracula starring Harry Nilsson.

Jones worked as a laboratory assistant and acted in amateur theater for ten years before deciding to persue a career in acting. He attended Rose Bruford College of Speech and Drama in Kent, England, on scholarship. Aftwerwards, he joined the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Jone's first film was Marat/Sade in 1966. Jones won the "World's Best TV Actor award" at the 1969 Cannes Film Festival for his portrayal of "Claudius" in the British TV series "The Caesars". After his performance in Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed, Jones was often type-cast as Britain's answer to Vincent Price.
