| Freddie Jones was born on September 12, 1927, in Staffordshire, England. He played "Dr. Frankenstein" in Son of Dracula starring Harry Nilsson.
Jones worked as a laboratory assistant and acted in amateur theater for ten years before deciding to persue a career in acting. He attended Rose Bruford College of Speech and Drama in Kent, England, on scholarship. Aftwerwards, he joined the Royal Shakespeare Company.
Jone's first film was Marat/Sade in 1966. Jones won the "World's Best TV Actor award" at the 1969 Cannes Film Festival for his portrayal of "Claudius" in the British TV series "The Caesars".
