Fredric Myrow

Fredric Myrow was born on July 16, 1939, in Brooklyn, New York. He died on January 14, 1999.

Fredric Myrow's father was the film composer and songwriter Josef Myrow. Fredric's "Symphonic Variations" was performed by an orchestra at the Hollywood Bowl when he just was 21. Myrow received three Fulbright Awards, three Rockefeller grants, as well as a Guggenheim Fellowship. Myrow composed music for the New York Philharmonic and taught at the State University of New York.

In 1970, began working with Jim Morrison of the Doors on a "rock opera" which was never completed. Then Myrow worked as a producer and arranger for popular music artists including Harry Nilsson and Van Dyke Parks.

In 1970, Myrow also began composing the scores for films. His work includes music for Soylent Green, and the Phantasm series of films.
