| Gary Sinise was born on March 17, 1955, in Blue Island, Illinois.
In 1974, Sinise and two friends formed the Steppenwolf Theatre Company in Chicago, Illinois. The company went from performing in a church basement to producing plays on Broadway.
Sinise directed the 1998 film Miles from Home. In 1992, he made his film acting debut in A Midnight Clear. The same year he directed and starred in Of Mice and Men.
