| Graham Salisbury grew up in Hawaii. After graduating from California State University, Northridge, Salisbury attended Vermont College of Norwich University and received a Master of Fine Arts degree.
According to the biography on his web site, Salisbury "worked as the skipper of a glass-bottom boat, as a deckhand on a deep-sea fishing boat, and as an elementary school teacher. His rock-and-roll band, The Millennium, had a number one hit in the Philippines." and "he didn't wear shoes until the sixth grade."
