Henry Krein

Henry Krein played accordion on Harry Nilsson's Nilsson Schmilsson album.

Henry Krein was born on April 15, 1905, in London, England. He died in November of 1993.

Krein's father, Yasha Krein, emigrated from Russia to England in 1904. Yasha composed "Gypsy Carnival" which was recorded by Mantovani and performed in his concert program.

Henry Krein studied piano at Blackheath Conservatoire and taught himself to play the accordion.

Krein appears in the wedding scene in the film Fiddler On the Roof. In the early 1950s, Krein played accordion in the Mantovani Orchestra.

Krein continued performing up to just weeks before he died in 1993.
