| Enrico Nicola Mancini was born on April 16, 1924, in Cleveland, Ohio. He died on June 14, 1994.
Mancini worked as an arranger for several big bands before he began working on music for films. Mancini earned his first Oscar nomination for his score for the 1954 film The Glenn Miller Story. Over the years, Mancini was nominated for 18 Oscar awards (he won four). He also received 20 Grammys and two Emmys.
