| Howard West was born in New York, New York. West graduated from Long Island University with a degree in business administration. After serving in the Army, West joined the William Morris Agency and became a theatrical agent. West moved to the Los Angeles, California office of the agency where "packaged" televesion shows including "Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour," "The Bobby Darin Show," and summer replacement shows with Jerry Reed and John Byner as well as numerous one-hour variety specials. Clients West represented at William Morris included Neil Diamond, Anne Murray, Ruth Buzzi, Paul Lynde, Glen Campbell, and Jerry Reed.
West left the Morris Agency to become a personal manager and producer and was Marty Feldman's personal manager for ten years. West is partnered with George Shapiro, a former William Morris associate and friend for 30 years, in the management firm of Shapiro-West and Associates which produced the "Seinfeld" TV series.
