In the screenplay for Obits the character "Harry" eventually becomes a part of a bizarre world inspired by comics and animation. According to the screenplay, Harry's face becomes that of "Howdy Dowdy."

The screenwriters, Harry Nilsson and Terry Southern, were probably thinking of the marionette Howdy Doody.
