| In the mid-1960s, Steve Cropper was asked by Atlantic records to produce some recordings of Wilson Pickett, then a little-known R&B singer from Detroit. Steve Cropper listened to a few of Pickett's early Gospel recordings. At the end of some of the songs, Pickett would improvise a line including the phrase "in the midnight hour."
Inspired, Cropper began writing "In the Midnight Hour." The song reached number one on the R&B charts and number 21 in the pop charts in 1965. Visitor Comments:Connections:In the Midnight Hour ... |
