| James Hong was born on February 22, 1929, in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Hong studied civil engineering at the University of Minnesota then at the University of Southern California. After graduating, Hong worked as a road engineer for the Los Angeles county. Hong moonlighted as an actor and eventually quit to act full time.
Hong has appeared in more than a hundred films including The In-Laws, Airplane!, and Blade Runner.
On TV, Hong had recurring roles in "General Hospital,"
"Days of Our Lives," and
"The Adventures of Brisco County Jr.."
