| Joel Adelberg was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1939. Adelberg adopted the stage name Jeff Barry and recorded for RCA and other labels, but Barry's real talent was songwriting. He wrote Sam Cooke's hit "Teenage Sonata" and co-wrote the hit "Tell Laura I Love Her".
In 1963, Barry married Ellie Greenwich, herself a successful songwriter. The two wrote "Da Doo Ron Ron",
"River Deep-Mountain High",
"Chapel of Love",
"Then He Kissed Me" and many other classic songs. Visitor Comments:Connections:Jeff Barry ... |
