John Guerin

Percussionist John Guerin was born on October 31, 1939, in Hawaii. He died on January 7, 2004.

Guerin was a popular session player for over 40 years. In the 1960s, he worked with the Buddy DeFranco/Tommy Gumina Quartet, Frank Zappa, the L.A. Express, Jean-Luc Ponty, Thelonious Monk, and many other artists.

In the 1970s, Guerin played percussion or keyboards on many sessions for artists including Joni Mitchell, Kenny Rankin, Michael Franks, Peggy Lee, Harry Nilsson, the Brady Bunch, and Art Garfunkel.

In the 1980s, Guerin appeared on the soundtrack for Bird and played sessions for Sheena Easton, Linda Ronstadt, Bobby McFerrin, and Steve Tyrell.

Guerin's last session was for Lou Rawls's Rawls Sings Sinatra album which was released in 2003.
