| Kenneth Rosenberg was born on December 9, 1943, in New York, New York.
As "Kenny Vance", he formed the group Jay and The Americans which recorded fifteen albums and opened for the Beatles and the Rolling Stones during their first U.S. performances.
Vance later produced Steely Dan and to compose and produce soundtracks for feature films and television including the film American Hot Wax. His group, The Planotones was created for the film.
Vance was musical director for "Saturday Night Live" and the music supervisor for the films Animal House and Eddie and The Cruisers.
