| Kevin Kline was born on October 24, 1947, in St. Louis, Missouri.
Kline graduated from Indiana University then attended Juilliard. Kline is a founding member of John Houseman's The Acting Company.
In 1978, Kline won a Tony for his performance in "On the Twentieth Century." Two years later he won a second Tony for "The Pirates of Penzance."
In 1982, Kline made his film debut in Sophie's Choice. In 1988, he won an Oscar for his performance in A Fish Called Wanda.
