October 13, 1925, in Long Island, New York. He died on August 3, 1966, in
Hollywood, California.
In 1948, Bruce appeared on the nationally televised "Arthur Godfrey's Talent Scouts" which lead to appearances in night clubs and other television programs.
Through the 1950s, Bruce's comedy became more edgy and innovative. In 1961, he was arrested and tried on an obscenity charge and aquitted. A year later, he was again for obscenity. Again he was aquitted.
