| Before becoming a part-time actor, Louis Eppolito was a highly-decorated policemen in New York Police Department. As he tells in his book, Mafia Cop, Eppolito grew up in a family where his father, brother, and cousins were in the mafia. In 1969, after his father's death, Eppolito joined the New York police department. Eppolito retired from the force in 1989 as one of the most decorated police officers in the city's history.
