Meg Ryan

Margaret Mary Emily Ann Hyra was born on November 19, 1961, in Fairfield, Connecticut.

While attending New York University and majoring in journalism, Hyra earned extra money by acting under the name Meg Ryan. Her film debut was in 1981 in the film Rich and Famous. From 1982 to 1984, she was in the cast of the daytime soap opera "As the World Turns" and appeared in the short-lived prime time series "One of the Boys."

In 1984, Ryan moved to Los Angeles, California. She appeared in Top Gun, Innerspace (with her future husband, Dennis Quaid), When Harry Met Sally, and many other films.
