Lansky was a major investor with Bugsy Siegel in the development of the Flamingo Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
In 1970, Lansky heard of the government's plan to arrest him on suspicion of income tax evasion. Lansky fled to Israel, but was eventually arrested and returned to the US.
