Ned Dowd

Ned Dowd was born on May 26, 1950, in Boston, Massachusetts.

Dowd received his graduate degree from McGill University in Montreal, Canada and played professional hockey for three seasons. Dowd began his acting career in the film Slap Shot which was written by his sister and based on one of the hockey teams he played for.

Dowd then served as the assistant director or production manager on many films including Hoffa and I'll Do Anything.

Dowd served as head of production of Caravan Pictures and oversaw the production of 22 feature films including the box-office hits While You Were Sleeping and Angels in the Outfield.

After producing Shanghai Noon, Dowd was named senior vice-president of physical production at Spyglass Entertainment.
