| Nick Lowe was born on March 24, 1949,
in Suffolk, England.
In 1965, Lowe and his friend Brinsley Schwarz formed Kippington Lodge which released a few singles. In 1969, the band assumed the name Brinsley Schwarz. As the band broke up in 1975, Lowe began to produce artists such as Graham Parker and Dr. Feelgood.
In the early 1970s, Lowe help found Stiff Records.
Starting in the late 1970s, Lowe produced recordings by Elvis Costello and others.
In the early 1980s, Lowe toured with Rockpile and produced albums by his wife, Carlene Carter.
