Nicole Mary Kidman was born on June 20, 1967, in Honolulu, Hawaii.
When Kidman was just a few years old, her family moved back to their native Australia.
Nicole's first stage appearances were as a ballerina, but she developed an interest in acting. She quit high school and, at 16, appeared in the film Bush Christmas.
She made her US debut in the 1989 film Dead Calm. In 1990 she starred with Tom Cruise os Days of Thunder and the couple married in December of 1990.
Kidman and Cruise starred in Stanley Kubrick's last film, Eyes Wide Shut, in 1999.
The couple separated in 2001.
