Frank Carlton Serafino Ferrano was born on December 11, 1958, in San Jose, California. He moved to Los Angeles, California, when he was 17 years old.
Ferrano, adopting the name Nikki Sixx, formed Motley Crue with Tommy Lee, Mick Mars, and Vince Neil. Sixx played bass and wrote most of the group's songs.
In 1990, Sixx married Playboy Playmate Brandi Brandt. The couple had three children together, be eventually divorced. Nikki married another Playboy Playmate, Donna D'Errico, in 1996.
