| Pablo Ferro was described by Jonathan Demme as "the best designer of film titles in the country today."
Born in Cuba, Ferro emigrated to the US with his parents as a teen. In 1953, as a high school student in New York, New York, he began teaching himself animation. Later he worked with Stan Lee as a "penciller."
In his first film job, Ferro worked with former Disney animator William Tytla. Ferro became an animation director and worked for various animation companies in New York.
Today, Ferro is primarily known as a graphics designer who has created movie titles, designed printed ads, and created corporate logos. Ferro has also edited, produced, and directed as well as created special effects for films.
Ferro created the title sequence of Stanley Kubrick's Dr. Strangelove. More recently, he created titles for Good Will Hunting, As Good as It Gets, and Men in Black.
In October of 1998, Pablo received a Special Achievement Award from the Directors Guild of America. Visitor Comments: |
