Paramount Theater

The Paramount was once the largest movie theater in Los Angeles, California, and one of the largest in the world. It opened as Grauman's Metropolitan Theater in January, 1923, and renamed as the Paramount Theater when it was bought by the Publix theater chain in 1929. The theater was demolished in 1963 to make way for a parking lot. A bank is now in the location where the theater once stood near the corner of Broadway and 6th street.
