| Peter Frampton was born on April 22, 1950, in Beckinham, England.
As a child, Frampton learned to play his grandmother's banjolele. In high school, Frampton was a member of The Preachers, a group produced and managed by Bill Wyman of the Rolling Stones.
In 1969, Frampton formed Humble Pie with Steve Marriott.
After Humble Pie folded in the early 1970s, Frampton played guitar on albums for
David Bowie, Ringo Starr, Harry Nilsson, and George Harrison.
In 1976, Frampton recorded Frampton Comes Alive. The album became the best selling live album ever.
