| Philip David Ochs was born on December 19, 1940, in El Paso, Texas.
While attending Ohio State University, Ochs became interested in music and politics.
After 3 years at OSU, Ochs dropped out and moved to New York, New York, and began singing in clubs in Greenwich Village.
In 1964, Ochs recorded his first album, All the News That's Fit To Sing. In 1967, Ochs signed with A&M and released Pleasures of the Harbor.
