Ridley Scott
Ridley Scott was born on November 30, 1937, in Tyne and Wear, England.

Scott studied film at the Royal College of Art in London, England. He began working as a set designer for the BBC before he began directing BBC TV shows. He also directed hundreds of commercials.

In 1977, Scott directed his first feature film, The Duellists. In 1997, he directed the sci-fi thriller, Alien. Other films directed by Scott include Gladiator, Blade Runner, and Black Hawk Down.
