Roger Corman

Roger Corman was born on April 5, 1926, in Detroit, Michigan.

Corman began working for Fox as a messenger. He's famous for producing and directing a number of successful, low-budget films including the original Little Shop of Horrors and adaptations of Edgar Allan Poe stories such as The Masque of the Red Death starring Vincent Price.

Corman is also credited with launching the careers of many notables including Jack Nicholson, Francis Ford Coppola, Martin Scorsese, Jonathan Demme, James Cameron, Peter Bogdanovich, and Joe Dante.
