| Rosanne Cash was born on May 24, 1956, in Memphis, Tennessee. Her father, country singer Johnny Cash, and her mother separated when Roseanne was very young. She lived with her mother.
After graduating from high school, Cash worked for her father - first behind the scenes during his tours, then later as a back-up singer.
After taking acting lessons and travelling, Cash signed with Columbia and released her first album in 1979. Right or Wrong produced three top-20 hits.
Cash's 1981 album Seven Year Ache produced three number One hits.
Cash is the author of the novel Bodies of Water as well as a children's book, Penelope Jane: A Fairy's Tale.
