| Roy C. Knapp was born on October 26, 1891. He died on June 16, 1979.
From 1928 to 1950, Knapp was on the staff of radio station WLS, playing percussion for such shows as "The National Barn Dance."
In 1938, Knapp started the Roy C. Knapp School of Percussion. Knapp's roster of students include Gene Krupa, Louie Bellson, Dave Tough, and Bobby Christian.
