Field starred on TV in Gidget in 1965 and played The Flying Nun from 1967 to 1970.
In 1976, Field won an Emmy for playing a woman with 17 distinct personalities in the TV movie Sybil.
In the late 1970s she was romanticly linked with Burt Reynolds and co-starred with him in Smokey and the Bandit and Hooper.
