Sam Raimi was born on October 23, 1959, in Franklin, Michigan.

As a child, Raimi began making movies with an 8mm film camera. He was still a teenager when he starting making his first feature, The Evil Dead. Raimi's later films include Darkman, Army of Darkness, and Spider-Man.
