| Sandor Stern was born on July 13, 1936, in Timmins, Ontario, Canada.
In 1961, while in medical school, Stern sold a TV script to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. For five years, while practicing medicine, he continued to write screenplays for the CBC. Then he quit his medical practice to devote himself full-time to television.
