| Scotty Turner was the lead guitarist and a songwriter for Tommy Sands and the Raiders before joining A&M Records as a songwriter and producer in 1963.
In 1968, Turner moved to Nashville to head the country music division of Liberty/Imperial/United Artists.
Turner has produced records for many artists including Slim Whitman.
Turner owns and operates Buried Treasure Music, Captain Kidd Music, and Scott Turner Productions.
Circa 1960, Harry Nilsson recorded a number of demos for Scott Turner. He was paid $5 for each song. Years later, Turner decided to release the songs to take advantage of Harry's success.
