| Stephen Bishop was born on November 14, 1951, in San Diego, California.
Watching the Beatles on "The Ed Sullivan Show," thirteen year-old Bishop decided he wanted to play guitar and write songs.
In 1969, Bishop moved to Los Angeles, California where he got a job with a music publisher. Bishop continued to write songs with little success wasn't until 1975 when Art Garfunkel recorded two of his songs on Garfunkel's Breakaway album.
Shortly afterwards, Bishop was signed to ABC Records and released his first album Careless. The album yielded two hits, "Save It For a Rainy Day" and "On and On."
