Ringo Starr and Stevie Nicks recorded Harry Nilsson's ^"Lay Down Your Arms^" on the For The Love of Harry: Everybody Sings Nilsson album.

Stephanie Lynn Nicks was born on May 26, 1948 in Phoenix, Arizona.

In high school, Nicks and fellow student Lindsey Buckingham formed a band called Fritz. Nicks and Buckingham moved to Los Angeles, California, and, in 1973, recorded an album called Buckingham-Nicks. The album was not very successful, but was heard by members of Fleetwood Mac who invited Buckingham and Nicks to join their group in 1974.
