Ted Levine

Ted Levine was born on May 29, 1958, in Parma, Ohio.

Levine studied acting at the University of Chicago and was a member of the Steppenwolf Theatre Company. In the 1980s, Levine began appearing in films, beginning with a few made-for-TV movies.

In 1991 Levine appeared in The Silence of the Lambs as "Jame Gumb." He currently plays "Captain Leland Stottlemeyer" in the TV series "Monk."
