Kim Wilson began playing the harmonica and singing when he was 17. Inspired by B.B. King, Jimmy Rodgers, Muddy Waters, and other blues artists, Wilson moved to Minneapolis and began playing clubs. After a little over a year, he moved to Austin, Texas and met Jimmie Vaughan. The two founded The Fabulous Thunderbirds in 1974.
In 1979, the group released its first album. But it was their fifth album, Tuff Enough, released in 1986, which was a major success and spawned two hit singles.
Jimmie Vaughn left in 1989 but the group continues to record and tour under the leadership of Wilson. Visitor Comments: |
