| Timothy Bruce Schmit was born on October 30, 1947 in Oakland, California.
In the late 1960s, Schmit auditioned to play bass for the group Poco
but lost out to Randy Meisner. But when Meisner quit the band
during the recording of their first album, Schmit replaced him.
Schmit recorded several successful albums with Poco.
Meanwhile, Randy Meisner formed the Eagles along
with Don Henley, Glenn Frey, and Bernie Leadon.
After recording the group's hit album, Hotel California,
Meisner quit the Eagles. Schmit replaced Meisner and the Eagles
recorded the album The Long Run.
Following the breakup of the Eagles, Schmit did session work for
artists such as Toto and Crosby, Stills and Nash.
